ASERL Friends: A quick reminder that on Friday of this week (April 28, 2017) at 11:00 EDT we will host a webinar about the organization, content, and future plans for the P2P Copyright Network, a program developed by Anne Gilliland, Scholarly Communications Officer at UNC-Chapel Hill, to formally teach copyright concepts to a large number of library staff members at all levels within the organization. The goals of this ongoing program are: • For library staff to increase their copyright knowledge and awareness and learn how these issues pertain to everyday work • To build staff members’ confidence in answering and referring questions about copyright • To foster an atmosphere where everyone can feel free to ask questions about copyright Agnes Gambill, a 3L law student and the research assistant for the program, has used her legal and media expertise to enliven the classes with short videos that make copyright cases memorable. We’ll also hear from a staff member who attended the classes about how the experience was helpful.
