ASERL Friends: As many of you know, grant-seeking is no longer an individual sport. This means that libraries are well positioned to benefit from their inherent collaborative environments. We are very pleased to offer this Collaborative Grant-Seeking webinar to outline the time-tested steps for establishing a culture of grantsmanship. Developed at the University of Florida, this process has professionalized the pursuit of grants by UF librarians and staff, and includes four general steps: 1) creating an internal grantmaking program; 2) searching for appropriate grant opportunities for libraries; 3) developing workflows for preparing and submitting external proposals, and 4) building buy-in throughout the library. Examples of recently awarded grant projects will be included. Our speaker will be Bess DeFarber, Grants Officer at the University of Florida Libraries and author of the book" Collaborative Grant-Seeking: A Practical Guide for Librarians.” Please join us as you desire, and feel free to share with others.
