Kudzu Friends: Thanks to everyone who participated in our webinar this morning to review the reporting functions available from Lanter tracking portal. Here’s my quick summary: 1)
Lanter has added a “cancel label” button to the portal so libraries can remove a label from the queue if there’s an error. That’s something we had
requested a while back – glad to see it is now online. 2)
Much of our discussion focused on the “Exceptions” report in the Lanter portal, where users can see items that have not been delivered. Currently the
Exceptions report only lists the bag number, not the individual ILL numbers for each item in the bags. We asked Lanter to add ILL numbers to this report so libraries can more easily track an ILL request number. 3)
Lanter’s IT reps indicated their Operations teams regularly monitor the Exceptions reports to identify when items are not delivered in a timely manner.
Our experience does not reflect this claim – typically it is up to ASERL libs to identify when items are missing, sometimes weeks after the delivery deadline. I will continue to press Lanter to monitor these reports daily, so they can be proactive in tracking
items that have gone astray. The recording is now online at
https://vimeo.com/157461297 and also available via
www.aserl.org/archive. Please let me know any questions or additional comments/follow-up. Thanks.
