FYI. Earlier today ASERL posted an RFP for a courier service to support our
Kudzu program -- see www.aserl.org for the full text. Thanks to Judy Greenwood
(Ole Miss), James Harper (WFU), and Tracy Luna (U-Tenn) for their help in
drafting the RFP.

If you know vendors you can recommend for this service, please send their
contact information my way.

Thanks!

Subject: ASERL seeks proposals for library courier services

ASERL Friends:

The Association of Southeastern Research Libraries (ASERL) has posted a Request
For Proposals from experienced and highly-qualified vendors to provide
expedited delivery of library materials between participating sites, five days
per week, with a maximum time in transit between libraries of three business
days. The materials being shipped include books, magazines, photocopies,
CDs/DVDs, videotape, and microfilm. In 2014, these libraries shipped
approximately 32,600 items to each other.

The full text of the RFP can be found at www.aserl.org, as well as a
spreadsheet with information about delivery volumes.

TIMELINES
A) ASERL will host a public conference call to field questions from interested
prospective vendors about this RFP at 2pm ET on April 2, 2015. To participate
in this call:
   ASERL CONFERENCE CALL INSTRUCTIONS
     1) Dial 605-477-2100
     2) Enter 463 532 when prompted for an Access Code

B) Written responses to this Request For Proposals must be submitted via email
to ASERL's Executive Director (jburger [at] aserl.org) no later than 12pm ET on
April 24, 2015.

C) ASERL expects to develop a "short list" of prospective vendors on/about May
20. Discussions will continue with selected prospective vendors through early
June, at which time a final selection will be made and a contract awarded.

D) ASERL seeks to have services with the selected vendor commence
approximately July 1, 2015.

Our thanks for your interest in supporting this important program.
