Hi All,

Don’t forget to sign up for the demo of the long awaited “Needs” portion of the ASERL Government Documents Disposition Database.  Winston Harris will explain how new functionality allows the matching of needs with offers.  Those of us who have used it will attest to the fact that it works!

This demo will show you how to use the Needs portion of the database including how to set up your needs specs, how to add needs individually or in batch mode, an explanation of the auto claiming feature along with tips for success.  This will also be an opportunity to ask Winston, who developed the database, general questions about its use or bring up problems you have experienced.  Several changes have already been made thanks to feedback from users.

Barbie Selby from UVA will be available to talk about a recent meeting she had with her Virginia Selectives.  They are all committed to using the database this fall.  She can address how she accomplished this in her state and what the reaction has been to the adoption of the new database.  There will also be two members of the Steering Committee available to answer questions: Bill Sudduth and Chelsea Dinsmore.

Here is a link to the updated LibGuide for the Database http://guides.uflib.ufl.edu/ASERL-DispositionDB

Also, if you have questions about it, email dispositiondb [at] uflib.ufl.edu   Paige Harper, Winston Harris and I monitor this address and promise to provide answers as quickly as possible.
