Good afternoon, everyone! Kanopy is “encouraging” us to move to a SmartPDA model. Currently, we curate the collection relatively closely and purchase licenses on an a la carte basis, with preference for perpetual access, where available. Our usually spend per year (post-COVID) is around $55-$60. For those of you have had SmartPDA for a while, what has been your experience? Any lessons learned? While I understand the desire to reduce workloads and renewals (and mitigate the invariable mistakes and/or oversights that might arise), we have preferred to maintain a patron-driven approach on an as-needed basis. We have also found that about 40% of our Kanopy requests are available via one of our other streaming services (e.g., Projectr, Alexander Street Press, or Docuseek). Thanks for your input!
