Greetings, all! As adverstised below, the co-chairs of the Collections Strategies and Scholarly Communication Interest Groups are sponsoring an ASERL Community Convo: “Read and Publish and Transformative Agreements at Your Institution -- What's working and what's not?" June 12, 2023 at 2pm et / 1pm Central Time REGISTER: https://emory.zoom.us/meeting/register/tJArdOispj0tH9NUyrjwQXjrgQX4OJglmnt2 To get you thinking in advance, here are a few discussion prompts on our mind: Potential questions: * Are there certain factors or principles that you use to evaluate these offers? How are you supporting these agreements financially? What are institutional expectations around funding? * How do these agreements fit into other arrangements, such as pure OA publishing, subscribe to open, etc.? * How are our faculty and researchers engaging with these arrangements? * Should libraries continue to support these sorts of agreements? Are there new considerations and implications<https://ivpluslibraries.org/2023/03/iplc-letter-to-the-office-of-science-technology-policy/> in response to the recent Nelson memo? Should libraries even be in the role of compliance<https://scholarlykitchen.sspnet.org/2023/04/17/library-responsible-open-access/> when it comes to supporting research funder mandates? We just thought we would share in preparation for the session, which will be primarily set up as a series of breakout rooms. ASERL Friends: Happy June -- where does the time go?!? We have a number of interesting and innovative Professional Development events coming up for your consideration - see the list below.
