Earlier this year, the US Department of Justice’s (DOJ) published the final
rule on Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), including
specific rules for state and local governments to ensure that web content
and mobile applications are accessible to people with disabilities. With
deadlines for compliance with these rules in 2026 and 2027, libraries are
strategizing and working hard to prepare. Join us to discuss how your
library is approaching these activities, what questions you have, and any
concerns.

Here are some questions to think about ahead of the water cooler:

   - What activities has your library undertaken to come into compliance
with the updated Americans with Disabilities Act Title II Regulations?
   - Are your efforts in conjunction with a larger team or project from
your university? If so, how is that larger effort organized?
   - What concerns or questions have come up?
   - Is there space for any kind of collective action that ASERL libraries
could take to help each other come into compliance?
   - What do you wish your colleagues knew or would do to help you meet
   this challenge?

Please bring any additional questions or topics you would like to discuss.
We look forward to an interesting and productive conversation to close out
our Accessibility Water Cooler year!

Thanks,
The ASERL Accessibility Interest Group
