Hey, ASERL-WRLC Resource Sharing folks –
I hope everyone is faring reasonably well during this protracted heat wave.
I have two news items to share with you, both going into effect as of July 1, 2024.
-
Old Dominion University (VOD) is joining ASERL as of July 1, 2024.
-
As an ASERL member, they will participate in our Reciprocal Resource Sharing agreement, like everyone else. Please add VOD to your lending strings are suspend any fees for VOD requests.
-
Rebecca and I are meeting with their RS team in early July to review our other programming options. If ODU opts to join the Kudzu group or our Rapid-ILL pod, we will let you know ASAP.
-
We will welcome them “in person” at our next RS community call
-
For the six libraries using our FedEx contact:
Auburn University will switch to a local FedEx contract as of July 1, 2024.
-
The remaining libraries using the ASERL contract (Tulane, U-Kentucky, U-Memphis, U-Mississippi, Vanderbilt) should only ship items to each other using our account. Please do not use the ASERL account to ship items
to Auburn after this week.
-
To be clear: Auburn will continue to participate in Kudzu and ship items via FedEx, but the billing will change.
Please let me know any questions. Thanks!
Kind regards,
--j.e.b.
