Hello everyone,
I hope 2024 is treating you all well! As the spring semester kicks off around the Southeast, ASERL has a number of ILL-related things in the works. Here’s a little roundup:
- ASERL ILL Community Call:
Wednesday, February 7, at 10ET/9CT. Join resource sharing colleagues from across the Southeast’s finest academic libraries to engage in focused topics of interest to the community. Find out what’s happening across ASERL and help determine future
directions for resource sharing in the consortium. Register here
- Topics of Interest Survey:
What would you like to hear more about from your ASERL peers? What questions, collaborations, or topics would you like to hear experts address? Here’s your chance to weigh in on the topics we take up in future community calls. We genuinely want to know
what challenges and interests you’d like to hear more about, so please take a moment to let us hear from you. The survey is 4 questions and should take less than 5 minutes to complete (PDF showing the questions is attached).
Respond by 2/5 and we’ll summarize results on the community call.
- ILL Stats:
ASERL and Kudzu FY24 Q2 stats are
available here, and find the summaries attached.
(Are there other stats you’d like to see? Different ways of seeing this data? Consider noting it in the topic survey!)
- Systems data compiled:
A couple of weeks ago Robyn sent out a message to the list asking for information on the systems ASERL libraries are using. The answers that came back included a rich variety of systems categories, but I tried to compile what information we received in
a
Google sheet. This spreadsheet is temporarily openly available, so feel free to update if the information is missing, incomplete, or if I simply misinterpreted something.
I’d love to take another look at this with an ILL expert or two to analyze what the data tells us, and whether there are other categories we should attempt to compile. I imagine this as a quick one-off opportunity more than an ongoing commitment. Does
this sound interesting to you? Contact Rebecca or Courtney for more information.
Please feel free to pass this message onto other folks at your library who may be interested.
The region’s research libraries all seem to be undertaking innovative and interesting projects right now, and we’d love to hear from you about what’s going on on your campus. I’m looking forward to seeing you February 7!
Best wishes,
Rebecca
