Copyright regulations and libraries: The CASE Act and how to make your voice heard Date: September 22, 2021, 4:00-5:00pm ET Format: Interactive Zoom Workshop Who: Librarians and archivists Presenters: Anne Gilliland, Arnetta Girardeau, Dave Hansen, Will Cross Sponsors: Library Copyright Institute, ASERL, TRLN The Library Copyright Institute, in cooperation with TRLN and ASERL, invites participation from librarians and archivists in a copyright regulations workshop on September 22, 2021 at 4:00pm ET / 3:00pm Central Time. The workshop, "Copyright regulations and libraries: The CASE Act and how to make your voice heard" is aimed at helping librarians understand the copyright regulatory process and how they can help inform and shape those rules in the future. The focus of this session is in particular on recent proposed rules (see https://www.copyright.gov/rulemaking/case-act-implementation/library-opt-out/) for a new copyright small claims system (the CASE Act) that affect libraries. The Library Copyright Institute is a project to develop a program of systematic, deep instruction in copyright law for librarians.
