In case this is helpful; see also attached document for details on how to adjust settings within ILLiad and other tools.

<<OCLC held an online session on March 24 called “Managing your library’s ILL services during the COVID-19 crisis,” and below is the recording and slide deck.   Please share out.  The question you asked about deflecting monographs and only allowing electronic serials, etc. can be configured in ILLiad.  The presentation includes section on supplier or non-supplier considerations for ILLiad and much more.

Another thing - I am just telling my patrons that I can only get scans, no loans.  I don't expect anyone to loan me anything, and I am not loaning anything.  I thought I read in  both an  ASERL e-mail and a VIVA e-mail (we belong to both) that we should no longer ship any materials.

Hi, I just reset my days to fill loans to 20 and removed the deflection for loans.  FYI,  I am going into the library 1 day a week and can make physical copies on that day only.

Hi all,

Just a heads-up that this (see below) is being discussed as a possible workaround for libraries, until OCLC can develop a way to be non-supplier for loans, while a supplier for articles.  I’ve already set this up for EMU & EMM.

A common frustration was that borrowers can’t tell when building a lending string which lenders are deflecting loan requests and not scanning from print because the lender’s ILL office is closed and staff are working from home to fill from e-resources only.  These lenders are not lowercase because they can fill from online, but borrowers don’t want to waste their time or waste space in their lending string if the borrower really wants to find a lender with access to fill with/from a print copy.  The proposed solution was for lenders that are e-only to change their Days to Respond for loans to be 20 (they would still keep their Days to Respond for copies to be 2 or 4 or whatever).  Then borrowers at a glance -- and without onerously needing to check the Policies Directory -- would know not to send loan or scan-from-print requests to that lender if they saw 20 as the Days to Respond for loans.
