[This has been cross-posted – sorry for the duplication]

We found out yesterday that the University System will be online only starting after our Spring Break next week.  This will go until at least 3 April 2020.  The Libraries will be closing to all but library staff tomorrow at midnight.

For Borrowing: We’ve decided to ask our patrons not to request returnable material until after this time. Only requests for scans of chapters, articles, papers will be processed.

For Lending: We will set deflections to only allow copy requests during this time.  We will allow renewal requests and will give new dates through at least mid-April.  While I don’t think we should be making scans of entire books, we may consider several chapters during this time.  Our staffing will be reduced with the students gone, so we will have to make decisions based on what we can do with what we have.

For now, we will be in the library, but we are working on setting up everyone for telecommuting from home in case it comes to this.

I hate that this is happening and hope everyone stays safe and healthy!

Kathleen
