FYI. Sharing with her permission. There may be some issues with getting items into/out of Nashville due to the storms. --jeb From: Weisman, Robyn <robyn.weisman [at] Vanderbilt.Edu> Thank you for checking in John! Happily enough the library was located outside of the tornado’s path so there’s no major damage to the building (at least that I’m aware of). We’re also on Spring Break so most of our students are out of
town. Streets into and out of East and North Nashville are not passable, so there are many absences across the library. Merry’s bus into the city from the northwest outskirts had to turn around and go back as there were no passable roads. Schools and libraries
are closed, and polling places in the Nashville area delayed opening an hour so alternate voting locations could be set up to replace the ones that were destroyed (Tennessee is a Super Tuesday state). We’re very thankful, it could have been way worse.
Thank you again for checking in, and I will be sure to let you know if we’re affected any more than being short-staffed today.
Best, Robyn From: John Burger <jburger [at] aserl.org>
Good morning, Robyn – Or at least I hope it’s a good morning. We are hearing stories of awful weather and people killed from tornadoes in East Nashville. We hope all is well with you, your library, and your team.
Please let us know if ASERL can be of assistance. --jeb John Burger, Executive Director Association of Southeastern Research Libraries (ASERL) c/o Robert W. Woodruff Library 540 Asbury Circle, Suite 316 Atlanta, GA 30322 404-727-0137 |
