ASERL Friends: I am pleased to announce a new webinar, "Expanding Copyright Knowledge for Library Staff: The P2P Copyright Network at UNC-Chapel Hill." Please join us on April 7, 2017 at 11:00 EDT to learn about the organization, content, and future plans for the P2P Copyright Network, a program developed by Anne Gilliland, Scholarly Communications Officer at UNC-Chapel Hill, to formally teach copyright concepts to a large number of library staff members at all levels within the organization. Agnes Gambill, a 3L law student and the research assistant for the program, has used her legal and media expertise to enliven the classes with short videos that make copyright cases memorable. We’ll also hear from two staff members who attended the classes about how the experience was helpful. The goals of this ongoing program are: • For library staff to increase their copyright knowledge and awareness and learn how these issues pertain to everyday work • To build staff members’ confidence in answering and referring questions about copyright • To foster an atmosphere where everyone can feel free to ask questions about copyright Webinar presenters: • Anne Gilliland, Scholarly Communications Officer, UNC-Chapel Hill Libraries • Agnes Gambill, 3L student at UNC Law School and Scholarly Communications Research Assistant • Jennifer Coggins, Records Services Archivist, UNC-Chapel Hill, Wilson Library • Claire Kozak, Reserves Manager and Students Supervisor, UNC-Chapel Hill Health Sciences Library WEBINAR: "Expanding Copyright Knowledge for Library Staff: The P2P Copyright Network at UNC-Chapel Hill."
