Manager I (Interlibrary Loan) Clemson University Libraries seeks a Library Manager I for Interlibrary Loan borrowing operations (including managing borrowing workflows
for expedient request processing and providing public service to patrons) and managing daily operations of the Resource Sharing office. Advanced knowledge of the ILLiad software system as well as the ability to perform complex bibliographic searches are required.
Other duties as assigned will be performed. Library Manager I responsibilities include:

Borrowing:
Uses ILLiad, OCLC, Millennium, and other information sources to process and send borrowing requests based on library policy. Performs complex bibliographic searches when necessary to locate material
and forwards difficult searches to the ILL Librarian or subject specialist. Purchases material unable to be borrowed. Uses ILLiad, Odyssey, OCLC, and Millennium to process and distribute incoming materials. Processes renewal requests. Retrieves overdue or
recalled items. Clears new ILLiad users. Processes returned loans and determines appropriate delivery method for shipment (Kudzu, UPS, USPS, or FedEx). Develops and maintains good working relationships with other libraries. Programs and maintains ILLiad custom
queues and flags in Customization Manager for optimal workflow. E/30%

Public Service:
Provides public service to Clemson University students, faculty, and staff by answering Resource Sharing questions in person, by email, and by telephone, resolving problems or routing to the appropriate
staff member. Maintains the cuill [at] clemson.edu email address, responding to messages that arrive in a timely manner and forwarding messages to the appropriate personnel. Resolves difficult issues, communicating special
questions or situations to the ILL Librarian. E/25 %

Resource Sharing Supervision:
Serves as supervisor of record to one Library Specialist and one Library Technical Assistant and ensures that workers have proper equipment, training, programs, and tools. Assesses workflows and
implements changes for streamlined services in conjunction with Interlibrary Loan Librarian. Communicates with supervisor regarding personnel issues. Hires, trains, and manages one student worker. Serves as backup to supervisor for assessment, statistical
management, and other team activities. E/25%

Liaison Duties:
Acts as liaison with Information and Research Services Department to ensure that borrowed material is circulated in a timely manner and that fines and holds are implemented for late or lost materials.
Works with Library Document Delivery staff to ensure that requested materials are delivered to patrons on and off campus in a timely, efficient manner. Works in concert PASCAL Delivers manager to ensure that in-state requests are routed through the proper
channels. Works with Engineering librarian to purchase standards for patrons and maintains purchased files. Generates borrowing statistics to give to subject liaisons for collection development purposes.

Staff Development: Participates in Atlas Systems online training and keeps abreast of new and upcoming program
enhancements. Participates in staff development or service opportunities, such as staff training, workshops, etc., related to job functions or in order to increase knowledge of the library or university. Participates in library and university committees and
groups, as needed. E/10% Required Qualifications: Minimum: A bachelor's degree and two years library experience.
Preferred: Excellent verbal, written, customer service skills. Effective interpersonal, oral and written
communication skills needed. Excellent customer service focus is a must. Technical knowledge and competence are necessary. Must be able to manage self with little supervision after initial training. Strong organizational skills, experience with detailed
work and experience with work requiring high accuracy rates. Reliability and good attendance record required.
Basic knowledge of ILLiad is necessary but advanced knowledge of ILLiad is preferred. STEM background is a plus. Knowledge of foreign language is a
plus. Additional Comments:
Must be able to move/lift up to 30 lbs. Salary:
$32,832-$39,067 Work Schedule:
Standard schedule of 37.5 hours per week; Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5pm. Location:
