ASERL & WRLC Resource Sharing Friends:

Many thanks to everyone who volunteered to help with our Resource Sharing
Policy & Process review – we had far more volunteers than we could accommodate.
Below are the librarians who will serve in this role. Please join me in
thanking them in advance for their assistance and good counsel.

ASERL-WRLC Resource Sharing Policy & Process Review Committee -- Summer 2016

   2. Catholic University: Angelique Carson
   3. George Mason University: Jessica Bowdoin
   4. Georgetown University: Amanda Rudd
   5. Marymount University: Matt Yunque
   6. UNC Chapel Hill: Geneva Holliday
   7. University of Central Florida: Kristine Shrauger
   8. University of Georgia: Susan Morris
   9. Virginia Commonwealth University: Shirley Thomas
   10. Wake Forest University: James Harper

The current policy is available at
http://www.aserl.org/programs/ill/reciprocal-agreement/. Some of our initial
discussion topics will include:
   a) Several of you have commented that the ALA guidelines that undergird
this effort have been updated recently. How do these changes impact the
ASERL-WRLC program?
   b) Can we find consensus on turnaround times, a common loan period, a
common renewal policy?
   c) Should we allow ASERL and WRLC participants to charge overdue fines?

I am sure the committee members will have other items they want to raise as
well. Please let me, Bruce Hulse (WRLC), or any of the committee members
listed above know if you have specific items/issues you would like us to
consider as part of this review.

GENERAL TIMELINE:
   * We are working to find a date for our first call later this month.
   * We hope to have any recommended changes available for review by the end
of October 2016.
   * Assuming all goes well, any changes would be reviewed by the ASERL and
WRLC Library Deans/Directors groups for implementation in early 2017.

Again, our thanks to the Review Committee members. Please let me know any
questions.

Best,

--jeb
