I have the following minor comments/changes to suggest.  

 

In 1., the last statement, These processes will be reviewed periodically to ensure they remain up-to-date, I think we should we should be more specific by stating that the policy will be reviewed annually or biennially. 

 

In 4, replace Odyssey Exchange with Article Exchange. 

 

In 8. the very last underlined phrase, by ASERL is deemed necessary., replace is with if.  

Also, I think that it should be up to the lending library to determine whether to discontinue lending to another Kudzu library. For example, Library A may decide to discontinue lending to Library B because of failure to return or pay for several long overdue items. 

• Should Library A consult with ASERL before suspending Library B borrowing privileges?
• Should Library B borrowing privileges be suspended by all Kudzu libraries or just Library A until the matter is resolved? 

Or should we simply omit the last statement in 8?

As promised, we have reviewed the longstanding “Guidelines for Expediting Delivery of Information Among Libraries Participating in ASERL’s Kudzu Project.”  My thanks to Courtney Crepeau (U-Kentucky), Tracy Luna (U-Tennessee), and Shirley Thomas (VCU) for sharing their expertise on this effort.

 

Attached for your review is the proposed new Kudzu policy/process document.  You’ll see the proposed additions/deletions/changes highlighted – hope this is not too hard to decipher.

 

Please review / comment and/or offer your support for these changes by March 1, 2015 by sending a note to kudzu-ops [at] aserl-lists.org so the Kudzu-Ops group can be aware of the status.
