Good morning!

The recording from the May 25th Town Hall e-meeting for the Collaborative Federal Depository Program has been posted to the archive page on the ASERL website - http://www.aserl.org/archive/.

Here are direct links to the program & slides:  Recording | Session Slides

Due to time constraints, here are a few ASERL updates that we did not get to share during the session:

·         ASERL is pleased to welcome a new member – the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville (Depository #:  0029).  The library is participating in the ASERL Resource Sharing programs (including Kudzu, the expedited ILL program, and the ASERL Rapid-ILL pod) and is considering additional ASERL programming in which to participate.

·         ASERL is getting a new website!  Stay tuned for further information on the anticipated launch date.  We are excited for a new feature that will showcase member libraries - collections, facilities, staff, programs, etc.  This will be a wonderful way to highlight Center of Excellence (COE) collections and I encourage you to consider submitting information on your collection as opportunities arise.

·         Reminders:

  • ASERL maintains email distribution lists for Regionals, Selectives and Center of Excellence libraries in the southeast.  These lists are the primary communication channel for information about the Collaborative Federal Depository Program.

ASERL Regionals List – For Coordinators and Staff at Regional Depository Libraries.  To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change the preferences on your subscription.

ASERL Selectives List – For Coordinators and Staff at Selective Depository Libraries.  Regional Coordinators are included on this list to ensure they are aware of communications distributed to Selectives within their region.  To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change the preferences on your subscription.

ASERL COE List – For Coordinators and Staff at Centers of Excellence Libraries.  To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change the preferences on your subscription.

For more information about the CFDP, please visit the program website:  http://www.aserl.org/programs/gov-doc/.  Please feel free to share this information with colleagues at your library who may have an interest in the program.

  • Please keep your contact information updated in the ASERL Documents Disposition Database.  You may recall that the database previously pulled your library’s contact information from the FDLP Library Directory – however recent changes to the FDLP Directory created technical difficulties.  As a result, an enhancement was implemented in the database to allow users to update their information directly.  To update your information, click on the “Update Contact” link in the upper left section of the page, which will open a pop-up screen as seen below.  You can change all fields except for the State.

  • And finally, I am announcing my retirement at the end of the year.  I joined ASERL in 2009 when ASERL was awarded the IMLS grant which tested the CFDP model, establishing the initial three Centers of Excellence libraries.  It has been a wonderful 13 years having the opportunity to work with the best community – you!  I thank you for your ongoing support and extraordinary efforts on behalf of the CFDP.

I understand that the position will be posted later this summer, with the hope to have my successor in place in November - prior to my departure.  We expect this to continue to be a 100% remote work position, as desired (does not require relocating to Atlanta).

If you – or someone you know – would be a great candidate, please be watching for the announcement.  We would appreciate your help in finding us a great program coordinator!

Thanks to all who attended the Town Hall e-meeting, and to the CFDP Oversight Committee representatives, Bill Sudduth and Amy Laub-Carroll for their assistance in program planning and to Renee Bosman for kicking off the e-meeting.

As always, please let me know if I can provide additional information or be of assistance,

Thanks!

Cheryle
