Good afternoon ASERL friends, The recording of the ASERL Documents Disposition Database Demonstration webinar has been posted to the ASERL website at: http://www.aserl.org/archive/. For follow-up: During the webinar, I had reviewed the “ID” search filter in the “My Needs” section of the screen (image below) and questioned how libraries use this feature. [A screenshot of a social media post Description automatically generated] I checked with our programmer at the University of Florida, who kindly forwarded an example of the email notification (auto-generated) that is sent to the library when an offer is matched to one of their needs. The email provides the details of the offer, along with the ID number for the Need on which the match was made (see image below). The intent of providing the “Matched by Need ID” number is to make it easier for the library to go back to their Needs Listings and Look up a Needs Specification (filter on the ID number – in this example, the number “14”) to edit/delete that Need as desired. Lesson learned: The filter is of value! [cid:image002.png@01D5A07B.48D1ACA0] Please let me know if you have any questions, have difficulty accessing the recording or if I can be of assistance. Thanks again for your support and interest in the Collaborative Federal Depository Program – and the ASERL Documents Disposition Database.
