Congratulations to our colleagues from the Southeast who have been recognized by the ALA Government Documents Round Table (GODORT). * Laura Harper (University of Mississippi, retired) is to receive the Documents to the People Award. This award honors an individual, library, institution, or other non-commercial group that has most effectively encouraged the use of government documents in support of library service. The Collaborative Federal Depository Program has been the beneficiary of Laura’s generosity and commitment to government information. Laura served on the initial Steering Committee for the ASERL Collaborative Federal Depository Program, providing guidance and leadership in this initiative through January 2011. During this time, she also established the Center of Excellence Collections for the Civil Rights Commission and the Internal Revenue Service at the University of Mississippi. * Jane Canfield (Pontificia Universidad Católica, Biblioteca Encarnación Valdés, Puerto Rico) and Hayley Johnson (Louisiana State University) are to receive the Margaret T. Lane / Virginia F. Saunders Memorial Research Award for their chapters in the book: Government Information Essentials, published by ALA and edited by Susanne Caro. The award is given to an author or shared among collaborative authors of an outstanding research article in which government documents, either published or archival in nature, form a substantial part of the documented research. * Hayley Johnson is also to be awarded the NewsBank/Readex/GODORT/ALA Catharine J. Reynolds Research Grant. This award provides funding for research in the field of documents librarianship, or in a related area that would benefit the individual’s performance as a documents librarian or make a contribution to the field.
