Good afternoon! The Collaborative Federal Depository Program (CFDP) is in its 3rd and final year of a grant funded demonstration project through the Institute of Museum and Library services. Since the Fall of 2009, the CFDP has tested and
documented the feasibility of a collaborative model that has led to the creation of subject/format-based centers of excellence among depository libraries in the Southeast as a means of improving collection development, preservation, intellectual control, and
access for legacy documents collections. Working within the current legal mandate and policies of the Federal Depository Library Program (FDLP), ASERL has partnered with the University of Kentucky, the University of South Carolina and the University of Florida to pilot-test the
development of comprehensive-as-possible collections of tangible, legacy federal documents in selected areas, along with improved cataloging and provision of expert subject-based reference support services.
As part of our commitment under the grant, we are surveying depository libraries in the Southeast (regional and selective) to obtain feedback on the work completed to date and to assess the scalability and broad adoptability of the CFDP
model. In addition to responses from Documents Coordinators, we also hope to hear from Deans/Directors as well as from staff in other areas of your library who may have assisted with the program. We very much would appreciate your help in sharing this survey
with these individuals. The deadline for submitting responses is August 10, 2012. Please note there are two links below, please select one, depending on your library’s membership in ASERL. If you are not certain of your library’s membership status, please see the
member list on the ASERL website. Select this link if your library
is not a member of ASERL: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/W8YTMGQ Select this link if your library
