A few weeks ago I distributed a newsletter that highlighted some discount offers that are available to ASERL libraries, including the offer we have had in place for many years via the Greater Western Library Alliance for the ORCID author identification service.  As can be the case when you distribute information to hundreds of people at a time, I quickly learned that the pricing information I had was incomplete and out of date.  Below is the updated pricing for the 2026 service year (beginning 1/1/2026).  This same information can also be found on our Member Benefits webpage.

ORCID author identification system, via ASERL's longstanding partnership with Greater Western Library Alliance.  Service renews on January 1 each year; the following pricing is for renewals as of January 1, 2026.  Pricing tiers are based on the total annual operating budget of the member organization. 

 2026 Standard Tier (annual budget between $10M - $1B) $5660 / year.  (Includes $3,495 ORCID  membership fee + $2,000 Lyrasis administrative and support fee + $165 GWLA admin fee)

 2026 Large Tier (annual budget >$1B) = $6,901 / year.  (Includes $4,700 ORCID membership fee + $2,000 Lyrasis administrative and support fee + $201 GWLA admin fee)

TIMELINE:  Any service renewals or new orders must be submitted to Nora Detloff at GWLA no later than October 18, 2025.  (Current subscribers have already been notified by GWLA of the renewal timeline.)
