I noticed several responses that mentioned routing rules. I would be interested in seeing a discussion of the routing rules you are using. Routing rules are somewhat easy to modify. I’m always looking for something to improve the workflow that doesn’t cost money. J

The most useful transaction routing rules for us:

Awaiting Branch Library Processing ? routes items requested by Pharmacy and Chemistry departments to Science borrowing

Direct Request routing

Library Delivered to Web - Moves borrowing requests filled by library (electronic) to document delivery

Several routing rules for RapidILL

Several routing rules for purchase-on-demand through ILL

We also use email routing rules that change the transaction status based on the nature of the email.

Subject: [kudzu-ops] IDS Logic Survey, Next kudzu-Ops conf call

Happy Monday, Kudzu Friends!

Thanks to everyone who participated in the IDS Logic survey; the results are attached here.

As you’ll see, there are mixed opinions about this ? some of us are very much in favor of adopting IDS Logic within the Kudzu resource sharing group, and some are opposed for a variety of reasons.  One thing is pretty clear:  Nearly all of you felt it would be OK for some Kudzu libraries to adopt IDS Logic and some to not use it, and/or adopt other tools that offer similar functionalities ? a ‘mixed bag’ would not be particularly troublesome.

Let’s gather telephonically to walk through this and map-out your desired next steps ? for both those libraries who want to adopt IDS Logic, and for those who want to consider other options.  Please use the poll below to indicate your availability for a conference call in the next few weeks:

Again, my appreciation for the feedback.  Please let me know any questions.
