ASERL Friends: A reminder that we will offer the following webinar later today led by colleagues from William & Mary. The current registration list is below, FYI. WEBINAR: "Love the Source You're With: Moving Beyond Popular and Scholarly" DATE & TIME: June 23, 2020 - 2pm ET / 1pm Central Time REGISTER: https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/3620835134015224335 DESCRIPTION Under the ACRL framework, all source types should be considered for use, rather than privileging "scholarly" as best. We developed an activity that promotes a more holistic look at sources and prompts discussions related to diversity and inclusion. Learn why it's gotten rave reviews, and how you can adapt it. Candice Benjes-Small is head of research and instruction at William & Mary Libraries. She is co-chair of the Virginia chapter of ACRL (VLACRL) and has been active on ACRL committees. She has written numerous publications on information literacy, including THE NEW INSTRUCTION LIBRARIAN, a book published in 2016. She is also an instructor for the Library Juice Academy on library instruction assessment. Alexandra Flores is an instruction and research librarian at William & Mary Libraries and serves as the liaison to various science departments. She is the Academic Librarian Liaison for the Virginia Library Association's Librarians of Color (LoC) Forum and has served as the 2017-2018 Student ALA Chapter President at the University of South Florida. She has also been awarded the Florida Association of College and Research Libraries (FACRL) Annual Conference Scholarship, and the 2018 Florida Library Association (FLA) Minority Scholarship.
