ASERL Friends:

Happy new year! We hope everyone had fun and relaxing holidays.

Our 2019 partnership with Adam Matthew Digital has wrapped for the year, with
great success.  Of ASERL’s 38 members:
   • 20 libraries asked for price quotes
   • 14 libraries made purchases
   • The collective spend in 2019 totaled $2M, representing a savings of more
than $4M to the participating ASERL libraries (← compared to AMD’s standard
discounting models)
As a point of comparison, ASERL libraries spent less than $1M in the previous
ten years with Adam Matthew Digital.  Clearly, the offer we put forward was
attractive to many of you.  ASERL receives no compensation for these offers,
nonetheless it is quite pleasing for us to see this high level of participation
and savings.

We've created a new offer for 2020 (see below) and are kicking it off with a
new webinar.

WEBINAR:  “Using AMD's Primary Source Materials in Undergraduate Teaching &
DATE & TIME:  Jan 8, 2020 at 11am ET / 10am Central Time
REGISTER:  https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/6397772692619119628

Join us to hear how one professor on an ASERL campus is using AMD primary
source content in their work with undergraduates.  This webinar will look at
how Professor Heather Hirschfeld, Director of Undergraduate Studies in the
Department of English at University of Tennessee-Knoxville, is encouraging
student-led research by incorporating digital archives in to her undergraduate
program, while giving other ASERL members the chance to ask questions about how
this was achieved.

In addition to hearing from Dr. Hirschfeld, during the webinar Dot Kelly, a
Product Specialist at Adam Matthew, will showcase some of the features of Adam
Matthew collections that can be used in research and teaching, as well as
giving an overview of the type of content in Adam Matthew resources. Your
library sales rep Alicia Sell will also be on hand to answer any questions on
this at the end of the webinar, including those about the current pricing offer
for all ASERL members.
