ASERL Friends: Our 2019 partnership with Adam Matthew Digital has just wrapped for the year, with great success. Of ASERL’s 38 members: * 20 libraries asked for price quotes * 14 libraries made purchases * The collective spend in 2019 totaled $2M, representing a savings of more than $4M to the participating ASERL libraries (<-- compared to AMD’s standard discounting models) As a point of comparison, ASERL libraries spent less than $1M in the previous ten years with Adam Matthew Digital. Clearly, the offer we put forward was attractive to many of you. ASERL receives no compensation for these offers, nonetheless it is quite pleasing for us to see this high level of participation and savings. LOOKING FORWARD TO 2020 Based on the success of the 2019 offer, today we are announcing the 2020 ASERL-AMD offer. * ASERL libraries will receive 30% - 45% discounts on any Adam Matthew Digital content purchased between now and December 31, 2020; * Any ASERL library that purchases more than $100K during this time period will receive an additional 10% discount * Any ASERL library that purchases more than $200K during this time period will receive an additional 20% discount * Any ASERL library that purchases more than $300K during this time period will receive an additional 40% discount * If the ASERL group expenditure reaches $3M before September 30, 2020, all ASERL libraries will receive complimentary perpetual access to the complete AMD portfolio published through 2018. To date, ASERL libraries have made purchases totaling approx. 25% of the $3M group spend threshold, so we are well on our way to that goal. * See https://www.amdigital.co.uk/aserl for the full details. A summary flyer is also attached. * See https://www.amdigital.co.uk/images/ASERL_-_Available_pricing.pdf for the pricing info with the initial discounts for ASERL libraries. * See http://www.aserl.org/offers/ for info on all discount offers available to ASERL libraries. To introduce the offer and provide an example of how the AMD content is being used in an ASERL library, we are offering the following webinar: WEBINAR: “Using AMD's Primary Source Materials in Undergraduate Teaching & Research” DATE & TIME: Jan 8, 2020 at 11am ET / 10am Central Time REGISTER: https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/6397772692619119628 Join us to hear how one professor on an ASERL campus is using AMD primary source content in their work with undergraduates. This webinar will look at how Professor Heather Hirschfeld, Director of Undergraduate Studies in the Department of English at University of Tennessee-Knoxville, is encouraging student-led research by incorporating digital archives in to her undergraduate program, while giving other ASERL members the chance to ask questions about how this was achieved. In addition to hearing from Dr Hirschfeld, during the webinar Dot Kelly, a Product Specialist at Adam Matthew, will showcase some of the features of Adam Matthew collections that can be used in research and teaching, as well as giving an overview of the type of content in Adam Matthew resources. Your library sales rep Alicia Sell will also be on hand to answer any questions on this at the end of the webinar, including those about the current pricing offer for all ASERL members. As always, our webinars are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International License. These sessions are available at no cost, and will be recorded for later playback on our Archive page -- see http://www.aserl.org/archive. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar. https://link.gotowebinar.com/help-system-requirements-attendees.
