Subject: [CRL-FRIENDS] History Makers Offer via CRL

With the fiscal year ending soon, your library members may be interested in this very special CRL Friends and Family offer for History Makers, with advantageous pricing terms for U.S. and Canadian academic libraries.

The HistoryMakers Digital Archive is a subscription database of oral history interviews with distinguished African-Americans.  This truly exceptional non-profit Archive provides access to over 3,000 interviews that were conducted since 1999.  Currently there are over 10,000 hours of digital video, and it is a continually growing resource with weekly updates.

Interview subjects include more than 200 African American scientists, public figures like Angela Davis and Marian Wright Edelman, artists and performers like Nikki Giovanni, Harry Belafonte and Berry Gordy, political figures like General Colin Powell, Vernon Jordan, and President Obama when he was still an Illinois State Senator.

See:

http://www.thehistorymakers.org/digital-archive

Summary Details and Process:

Each institution that participates will be asked to sign a Subscriber License Agreement and return to CRL along with the HistoryMakers Order Form.   (Please note that the License agreement will be between the subscribing institution and HistoryMakers.)  Completed OCLC MARC records are available via:  https://www.oclc.org/forms/historymakers.en.html

Institutions that agree to subscribe for 3 years or more will receive a 15% discount.

The subscription runs on July 1-June 30 period.  New subscribers can join this offer on the first day of any month.

The billing for this offer will be handled by CRL directly to libraries.  Non-CRL/NERL members will be assessed a 3% service fee.

Intererested libraries should contact Francis Alba (falba [at] crl.edu) for further specifics and to place an order.

Remember that when you click on the link above, you will go to the login/password page.  Fill that out and hit ENTER, and then you are taken straight to the offer page, which also includes previous CRL Friends and Family offers, some of which are still active.

Everyone on this F&F mail group does have their own password to this site, but if you're stuck give me a holler.

Best regards, Ann
